Agroha Shakti Peeth

Agroha remained an important centre of commerce and political activity till the period of Feroze Shah Tughluq as it was situated on the ancient trade route between Taxila and Mathura. Earlier excavations proved the potentiality of the site and its ancient name 'Agrodaka', headquarters of a Janapada. The Agroha mound goes back to the 3rd century BC and is where Harappan coins were discovered apart from stone sculptures, terracotta seals, iron and copper implements, shells and a host of other things. Recent excavations have yielded five cultural periods ranging from circa fourth century to fourteenth century AD. The excavations have also revealed two ancient shrines namely a Buddhist stupa and a Hindu temple. Agroha is a town in Haryana state of northern India. It is situated in Hisar district in between Hisar city and Fatehabad on NH 10. Ancient structures, pot-shards, coins and seals have been found in archaeological excavations at the Agroha Mound. The Agarwal and Agrahari communities claim origin from Agroha. According to their legends, Agroha was the capital of their founder Agrasena.

By the blessing of Kuldevi Mahalaxmi and inspiration of Principle of Maharaja Agrasen, the Akhil Bhartia Agrawal Sammelan laid down the foundation of "Shri Agrasen Foundation" The main aim of foundation is to provide better education, health and employment with the development of "Agroha Shakti Peeth" the birth place of Agrawals and working place of Maharaja Agrasen.

Like The proud able history of Agrawal Samaj, this foundation is trying to increase the share of involvement in the humanitarian services and national services.

You will be glad to know that in Agroha the 10 Acre land has been acquired to built "Agroha Shakti Peeth" which was inaugurated by then the Chief Minister Shri Om Prakash Choutala in the then presidency of Shri Pradip Mittal in 17th Oct 2004 with a huge ceremony.

Here a huge temple of Maharaja Agrasen and Maharani Madhavi has been built, where people are getting the most desired wishes after offering prayers. The result is that the Sawamani Prasad and 56 Bhog Bhandare are being organized by the fore-brothers here often to mark the fulfillment of their wishes. Statues Agra Vaishya legends, freedom fighters and martyred soldiers of the country have been installed here and Agar Vibhuti Memorial has been built there, which was inaugurated by His Excellency, the Governor of Haryana - Captain Singh Solanki. A huge museum has been constructed in which so far more than 500 legends of India and abroad have been painted, who have made their contribution in the history of the world. The holy Agra Sarovar was also inaugurated here by His Excellency, the Governor of Haryana - Captain Singh Solanki, which contains the holy water of 118 pilgrimages in India.

The Foundation is successfully running a guest house (Dharmshala) with 54 rooms with state of the art facilities at Agroha Shakti Peeth to provide accommodation and food to pilgrims visiting Agroha. In view of the increasing number of passengers, there is a plan to build another Dharamshala of 54 rooms soon. Maa Madhavi Annakshetra (Kitchen) is also being operated at the Shakti Peeth by the Foundation through which free food is being provided to the passengers coming to Agroha Shakti Peeth. Poor families are also treated for Free at Agroha Medical College. Everyday thousands of people are getting food through Maa Madhavi Annakshetra.

The Great Bhamashah, the pride of Agrawal Vaishya society established at Agroha Shakti Peeth, became immortal in history due to his charity. The cooperation of Bhamashah gave Maharana Pratap the direction of struggle, while also giving self-respect to Mewar. It is said that when Maharana Pratap was wandering in the jungles with his family, Bhamashah dedicated all his accumulated capital to Maharana. Then Bhamashah's bounty of charity was heard with great enthusiasm in the surrounding areas.

Tableau established in Agroha Shakti Peeth, Lala Lajpat Rai Ghulam played his important role in liberating India. Lala Lajpat Rai was one of the three leading heroes of the Indian freedom struggle, Lal-Pal-Bal. The famous Lala Lajpat Rai of this trio was not only a true patriot, a fierce freedom fighter and a good leader but he was also a good writer, advocate, social reformer and an Arya Samaji. The grand welcome gate of Agroha Shakti Peeth has been built in the form of a chariot consisting of seven horses of Lord Surya Narayana which has become a center of attraction for people passing through Maharaja Agrasen Highway. A huge auditorium and museum is being constructed in Agroha Shakti Peeth, in which people who come there can get an opportunity to see and study documents and objects related to the life of Maharaja Agrasen.

The First Sadbhavana Rath Yatra against terrorism was organized by Agra Chetna and Sadbhavana Rath Yatra Sammelan with the aim of spreading the principles and ideals of Maharaja Agrasen across the country. This Rath Yatra was flagged off by former Deputy Prime Minister Sri Lal Krishna Advani on 17 February 2003. This Rath Yatra served as a message of peace and harmony in every nook and corner of the country. The success of this Rath Yatra can be gauged from the fact that it was welcomed by the Chief Ministers of various states. The organizers of this rath yatra were Sri Radheshyam Goel and Sri Gopal Sharan Garg.

The Second Rath Yatra started again on 5 April 2015 under the leadership of Shri Gopal Sharan Garg, who traveled all over the country for 18 months. The rath yatra was flagged off from the Agra Vibhuti Memorial after the grand and huge event of Agra Bhagwat Katha, which was received with great reception across the country. This Rath Yatra traveled 1 lakh 61 thousand kilometers across the country and gave great enthusiasm and gaiety to the forefathers. Through this Rath Yatra, the message was conveyed to the society that the original text of Kalyug is in the forefront and through this, the atmosphere of peace and goodwill can be developed in the whole world by adopting the ideals of Maharaja Agrasen.

Violence, terror and war cannot solve any problem, that's why Maharaja Agrasen had ensured to provide houses and employment for every family living in his state. Even today, following the path shown by Maharaja Agrasen, the Agrawal society is running schools, colleges, hospitals, Dharamshala etc. in every corner of the country, benefiting people from weaker sections of the society. With such works, the work of filling the gap of richness and poverty in the society is being done successfully by the foremen.
